Dear Strong Mom: The Summer Edition
Share
Dear Strong Mom,
Summer is almost here — and I know what that means for you. It means the schedule shifts. The kids are home. The routines you fought hard to build get scrambled by pool days, road trips, and the beautiful chaos of a season that doesn't follow a plan.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, you're still trying to take care of yourself. Still trying to show up. Still trying to be the woman you're becoming, not just the mom everyone needs you to be.
I see you.
You Don't Have to Earn Summer
The pressure to have a 'summer body' is loud right now. Social media is full of it. But here's what I want you to hear: you don't have to earn the right to enjoy this season. You don't have to shrink yourself to deserve a swimsuit, a vacation, or a moment of rest.
Your body carried life. It shows up every single day. It is worthy of rest, nourishment, and joy — exactly as it is, right now.
Flexibility Is a Form of Strength
If your 5 AM workouts get replaced by evening walks with your kids, that's not failure. That's adaptation. Strong moms know how to pivot. They know that movement doesn't have to look the same every season to count.
A 20-minute workout in the garage while the kids play outside? That counts. A swim at the pool that doubles as cardio? That counts. Dancing in the kitchen while you make dinner? That absolutely counts.
What You're Modeling Matters
Every time you choose to move your body, fuel it well, and speak kindly about it — your kids are watching. You are teaching them what it looks like to be a woman who takes care of herself without apology. That is one of the most powerful things you will ever do.
Give Yourself Grace This Summer
Some days will be perfect. Most won't. And that's okay. The goal isn't a flawless summer — it's a real one. Full of memories, movement, rest, and growth.
You are not behind. You are not failing. You are a strong mom doing the work, season by season.
Keep going. We're right here with you.
With love,
